On 19.05.2022. Internet Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the celebration of the Global Accessibility Awareness Day with a focus on digital accessibility (GAAD – Global Awareness Accessibility Day), which is celebrated every year, on the third Thursday in May, globally (https://accessibility.day/ ).
On this occasion, the Internet Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a panel in Sarajevo, which discussed the importance and role of information and communication technologies in education, creating business opportunities, and generally exercise the rights of persons with disabilities.
On that occasion, a certificate for successful computer training for the blind persons was awarded to participants who came from Banja Luka, Tuzla, Goražde, Čapljina, Breza, and Vogošća. This computer training for the blind is conducted as part of the project “Strengthening the Internet without restrictions for the blind” funded by the Internet Society Foundation.
The training is individual and tailored to the needs of each candidate and is conducted by a blind person.
