The ninth candidate within the project “Enhancing the barrier-free Internet through the blind people empowerment”, is Emira Đozo from Goražde. The first 25 hours of the training were held in Goražde, in the premises of the Association of Blind and Visually Impaired Persons, in the period from August 29, 2022 to September 2, 2022. The training was held by Ernad Kuloglija, who, after adequate lessons and instructions, was selected as one of the candidates for the position of a lecturer.
The training covers the following areas: learning the basic elements of a computer, learning basics of OS Windows, working with the keyboard, creating, selecting and copying text, organizing files and folders, using voice programs, listening to voice books, using the Google Chrome browser, voice search, creating e-mails, search and opening incoming messages.
During the first part of the training, Emira demonstrated enough knowledge so the rest of the planned training can be continued online.
With the completion of the training of the ninth candidate, the goals outlined in this project have been fulfilled. To remind: following ISOC’s motto “Internet for all”, the Internet Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina focused on helping blind and partially sighted people and prepared the project “Enhancing the barrier-free Internet through the blind people empowerment”, financed by the Internet Society Foundation within the Beyond grant the Net Large Grant Programme. As part of the project, our association successfully trained nine blind candidates from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina for independent computer work and Internet use. All selected candidates, in addition to free training, adapted to each individual, received a laptop as permanent ownership.
